Goa Institute of Management(GIM) is one of the best autonomous B-Schools in the country. Candidates can apply for admission to post-graduate management courses in GIM on the basis of CMAT/CAT/GMAT/XAT score. CMAT Cutoff for GIM has always above 90 percentile and it is expected to be the same this year too. 

Candidates will be able to view their CMAT 2021 results on the official website (cmat.nta.nic.in). Test-taker will be featured on the merit list which will showcase their All India Rank. GIM offers a full-time Post-Graduate Diploma in Management(PGDM), PGDM in Healthcare Management (HCM), and PGDM in Big Data Analytics (BDA). The institute is also a resource center for Ph.D. programs in Management for Goa University.

For admission to the academic year 2021, candidates have to take XAT 2021 or CAT 2020 or GMAT or CMAT 2021.

National Testing Agency will conduct CMAT 2021 in last week of January 2021, and the result for the same will be released soon. Based on CMAT 2021 Result, Goa Institute of Management will shortlist candidates for the face to face interaction, to offer admission into various PGDM programs offered by the institute. 

Based on previous year trends, CMAT 2021 cutoff for Goa Institute of Management is expected to be in the range of 90-97 percentile.

  2. CMAT cutoff for GIM is the minimum score that the candidate should secure in CMAT examination in order to be shortlisted for the selection process i.e. personal Interview. Read about CMAT Selection Procedure
  3. GIM does not declare the cutoff, however, based on the score of the last qualified candidate selected, one can determine the cutoff set by the institute.

GIM Eligibility Criteria

For PGDM, PGDM (HCM), and PGDM (BDA) at GIM, below are the eligibility criteria to fulfill:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (10+2+3) from an AICTE / AIU recognized university.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for candidates belonging to SC / ST category) in a three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
  • Candidates in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply provided they have obtained a minimum 50% aggregate in the last examination.
  • If an applicant does not complete his/her graduation by May 29, 2021, or does not obtain 50% aggregate marks their candidature will be canceled.

Candidates who wish to take admission to the PGDM programs at GIM are required to take XAT 2021 or CAT-2020 or CMAT 2021. CMAT 2021 Registration is done through online mode only.

GIM Registration

Candidates can follow these steps to apply at GIM for the academic session 2021 – 23:

  1. Visit the official website of GIM.
  2. Enter your name, date of birth and mobile number.

  1. Enter the OTP received. 
  2. You will receive a username and password through email.
  3. Re-login and fill in personal details, academic details, and select the course. 
  4. Upload scanned images of photograph and signature.
  5. Pay the application fee, either online or through demand draft.
  6. Verify all the details and accept the declaration by click on “I Agree”.
  7. Click on the submit button to submit your application form.

NOTE: GIM application fee can be paid online via credit card/debit card/net banking. The application fee for General and OBC candidates is INR 2500(+INR 300/extra course).


GIM Selection Process

GIM Selection Process 2021

Candidates are shortlisted for all the PGDM programs on the basis of XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score. They will then be called for a face-to-face evaluation i.e. interview process in various cities in early March 2021.  

Applicants are mandatorily required to have take XAT 2021, CAT 2020 or GMAT between January 01, 2021 and January 20, 2021 or CMAT 2021. Candidates who choose to apply through GMAT have to make sure that they inform the official authoriites (GMAC) that the official scores have to be sent to GIM. 

The final selection of the applicants for PGDM, PGDM (HCM), and PGDM (BDA) program shall be made on the basis of CMAT Score, face to face evaluation, past academic record, work experience (if any), and composite diversity index. The selection process is based on the following parameters:

  • Goan domicile/origin candidates are given relaxation of 15 points in the cut-off of XAT/CAT/GMAT/CMAT score.
  • The final selection will be based on the overall performance of the applicant in all the aspects mentioned above. Getting a good score in CMAT 2021 does not guarantee selection for the program.
  • Goa Institute of Management has selected these cities to conduct face to face Evaluation round: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Cochin, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune, Mumbai, and New Delhi.

PGDM 2021 Admission 

  • A group of candidates was selected and invited to Goa for the Achiever’s Round of Interview in January 2021. The Regular Round will be conducted in March 2021 for all other candidates. 
  • Candidates who are shortlisted for the Achiever’s round will be eligible for scholarships. They will be selected on the basis of their career achievements, profile, work experience, qualification, and career achievements. If available, candidates must submit their XAT / CMAT / CAT / GMAT Scores.
  • Achiever Round applicants were assessed on their objective asessment through their entrance examination scores and the leadership assessment was based on an individual assessment in the group activity.
  • Regular round applicants will be solely based on their entrance examination scores for the objective assessment round. 

PGDM (HCM) Admission 

  • For PGDM (HCM), candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their profiles, which will include their entrance examination score, past academic performance, qualification, and work experience. The objective assessment will be based on the candidate’s CMAT/XAT/CAT/CMAT score. 

PGDM (BDA) Admission 

  • For PGDM (BDA), candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their profiles, which will include their entrance examination score, past academic performance, qualification, and work experience. Those that are shortlisted will be invited for the interview process in March 2021. 
  • Candidates will need to take an online aptitude test called GAAT (GIM Analytics Aptitude Test). The test will include MCQs and will be held for a duration of 150 minutes. The objective assessment shall be based on the GAAT score and CMAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT score The weightage distribution is as follows:

PGDM (BFSI)
