Eligibility is based on merit. The 12th marks are considered, however some courses required exams and GD. Application fees was also very low as compared to other private colleges. You can find the application form in the site of the college. No need for any improvements in the admission process as it is very easy and less time taking. Anyone who wants to enter and live their life in the 5th ranked college should be able to bear any such hindrance if any.
I myself am a student of bcom hons and I'm very impressed with the syllabus and the subjects that the teachers provide us. Books are made available at libraries. The NEP made graduation of 4 years but still it is worth it . My college believes in making the students ready for the outside work and focuses more on skill and character building. However I still think that teachers should Provide notes rather than dictating the notes. And make us use laptops instead of old aged copies for notes. There are 2 sems and 2mid sems. The difficulty level depends on the preparation of the student , but it is moderate for any average student.
The internships are provided from the societies. They provide a list every month or alternate as the number of internships are limited and sometimes they want specific people for the job. Entrepreneurship development cell(Edc) mostly has all the main internships which they hand out to the interested and deserving candidates.
After 2nd year students are eligible for campus placements. They have to choose the companies and provide their CVs to the placement cell of the college which then forwards it to the companies. Deloitte, pkmy, godrej are some of the top companies that took students for their company roles. Highest package was 23 lakhs and average was around 4.5 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed were 70. I plan to get a master's degree after completing my graduation.
My course fees structure is 72000 for a year, which is to paid in 4 installments before the exam dates. 10% hike every 1-2 years. 72000 for a year with all the tution fees and everything is very moderate according to me. Scholarships are awarded to the top performers and top attendees of the college. There are many scholarships present for the students ranging from 500-50000.
Fests are based on the societies of the college. Many fests are organised from time to time for the students. Although the main fests are XPL( Xavier's premier league)held in September. And the Xavotsav held in February. Mostly all classes are air conditioned. Books for all subjects of different authors are present in the Library. The library itself has a reading room a tablet room and its own cafeteria. And one can issue books accordingly. Many societies are there for extra fests and the college team goes to other colleges for competitions regularly.
A light a fan a cupboard study table and a bed is provided in the hostel. The meal quality is okayyish and not very good. Basic protein and nutrition is fulfilled. The menu is very static and doesn't change frequently, although we do get a special dinner every month. A person can register from the website, it is also provided according to the marks obtained by a student. It is quite affordable if you compare it with the pgs and flats available in the area.
A class comprises of 80-85 students. I think the ratio is somewhere around 1:60. The faculty is very experienced and good. Mostly all of the professors have a PhD degree. They are very approachable, although some teachers don't want unnecessary calls/texts so they ask the cr to forward the important messages.
It depends upon the courses you have chosen and the duration of course generally we assume that the courses consists of 3 year and the companies came during the last year of your course and done interview.
If you're a commerce student you have to take B.com ( bachelor of commerce in accounting and finance) course. You'll be introduced to many new subjects that you haven't learnt aur had been teached in 11th or 12th. Not a tough course but yaa it is for some reason. There are tutorial exams before the final exams of 25 marks each and the college does reduce marks if you have written clearly or not. The saddest part. This happened with me too though I have been written everything in the paper still got supply and also there is no option of recheck in college papers
B.Com is a very industry-ready course and very relevant in today's time and work. The real-world application is taught well here and students get some insights about the practical usage of the course. Teachers may use some friendly behavior and some fun examples for the weak students to get involved and interested in the class.
Mostly from 2nd year students start receiving the internships however depends on department to department. Mostly students receive their placements from 3rd year. Few reputed recruiters such as Intel, TCS, Virtusa, Valve Momentum, Amazon, Deloitte, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, etc. The institute offers 270+ recruiters with 97% placement rate.
