There was no such thing as a minimum cutoff. It was just an application process which didn't take much efforts and thinking. It is also a last option for every student sometimes because they say, "anyone can get into chitkara" it's not a big deal. There was an application form and according to that the whole process was completed.
The overall curriculum is a no go. Doesn't include much practical knowledge. They rush you from every topic and you have no time to learn or do your work or score well in exams. Overall it's is not worth it and very hectic
Chitkara provides you with opportunities in terms of placements and internships. They guide you help you and puts efforts into it. You get opportunities in companies like Wipro, Amul, Blinkit, etc. and the pay is also just fine.
One thing good about chitkara university is its placements, one thing it is famous for. But do we get placements after this? The answer is maybe. If your cgpa is up to the notch and you have knowledge you can definitely get a placement. But if you are an average student it's very hard to get a good placement. The average packages are also not much. They provide you with internships but again, the money isn't that good until and unless you are an excellent student of this subject.
Chitkara university is good for your further studies, it has its own advantages and disadvantages. First it is more like a school than college and I personally feel like the overall fee structure is not worth it. The annual fee for BE Cse is 2 lakh, including two semesters. They just provide you with extra courses that are generally paid but here the university sponsors it. The hostel fee for the first year was 85000 per semester which is a bit costly too. But the hostel fee increases every year. Other than cse , the total course fee for MBA was approx 7 lakh before but as of now it's around 9 lakh. Placements are a must but don't expect a great package from chitkara university.
The best thing about chitkara is its infrastructure and maintenance. It's beautiful to the eyes as there are very less universities in India which are built this pretty and modern. There are clubs you can be a member of, but they aren't very much active. Not everyone is given a chance if you're in the club. There is no such thing as extra curriculum here. There aren't much active sports teams or much events or opportunities in this aspect. So if you're someone who wants extra activities then this is not the place for you.
The hostels are overall good. Not much space specially for girls. There are Ac rooms and single rooms as well as four sharing. Yes, the cost of accommodation is a bit high and many rules to follow. But maybe it's for the good to maintain discipline. There is a gatepass system if you have to leave campus. There is hostel in time to come back to your rooms at night. The mess is fine, the food is good. They don't change menu very frequently but overall the food faculty is good, you have options. They don't provide you with fruits in breakfast much. The cleaning is thoroughly done. They provide you with a fridge, microwave and kettles but there are alot of things that aren't allowed inside. Every now and then there is a checking of your bags and luggage and rooms. But overall the hostel facility is great.
Honestly, in my opinion the faculty is not so good and helpful. Sometimes the mentors are not very helpful which creates problems. The teaching is not so great, as per the syllabus and exams it is not worth it, they put a lot of extra pressure on you, plus the schedule is so hectic that you have no time prepare for the exams, and the faculty is just for the sake of it .
The on campus placements are decent . Campus has its own placement cell and helps students to get placed in reputed companies. Although the placement for tech branches is better than the core branches . The average package of civil was around 7-7.5 LPA this year but the package of tech branches is generally high and they are from companies like microsoft , amazon etc.
The average placement of Thapar is around 10 lakhs per yr. Students are eligible for placement after completing 3rd yr. Various companies like Zomato, Google, Aplle recruits students from Thapar. The highest package offered this yer=ar to two students was aroun 1.2 Cr per yr and this was campus placement. Percentage of students getting placed is above 90%. If a student wants to apply for off campus placement, he can do that as well. I will persue Masters after this degree
Yes my college provide placements but not no higher packege like in other colleges. Average is upto 3 or 5 lakh per anum. Companies like wipro, tcs, kent, infosys etc has visited there. Those students which have 8.5 Sgp and above only can sit in placements. I honestly work two or three years in india for experience then i go for foregien coutries for wok and settle there.
In 6th semester the students are eligible for campus placements. There are few companies like HCL, infoyses, etc. visited in campus during internships and placements. The placement percentage of collage is arround 70% and the average and highest package offered is 8lpa and 50lpa respectively. I plan to continue my study in Mtech and GATE preperation.
Placements is actually one of the most thoroughly discussed subject at my college and its taken pretty seriously as it is one of the pillars for it's strong reputation. The students are eligible for internships right after the second semester, based on their skills. For on-campus placements, the students are mostly eligible after the sixth semester. Several companies such as JP Morgan, Deloitte, Samsung, Microsoft, Intel and last year Apple havd put their trusts over the students of our college. Also the placements record is quite good. Last year, the highest package was claimed to be around 54L per annum, which was secured by 2 students. The average stood at 12L per annum. As per my knowledge, all of my seniors were placed in pretty good corporations. However its also important to acknowledge the individual effort and skill. I plan to secure a good job through on-campus placements and make a mark on the tech world...
good placements, but cg cut is very high. i had done a podcast with senior as well and got to know a lot about the placements about thapar. you can checkout that on my youtube channel : BHAVISHYA SINGLA.
The placements here are average to good which totally matters to the students like ive seen people getting no placements at all to people getting placements of 18 LPA in second year only it totally matters on the student
