Symbiosis Law School, Pune was established in June 1977. It was earlier affiliated to the University of Pune and later became a constituent of the Symbiosis International University of Pune. Later it became a constituent of Symbiosis International University in 2002, with an enhanced degree of autonomy in teaching, learning, and research.

SLS Pune LLM Admission 2023

LLM is a one-year postgraduate course after LLB or any integrated degree with LLB. The eligibility criteria for this course is LLB degree from any recognized university/ institution of national importance with a minimum of 50 % marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidates) or equivalent grade.

The selection criteria for LLM is on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination, personal interaction and writing sample.

SLS Pune UG/PG Application Process 2023

Candidates must appear for SLAT exam is a precondition for admission to SLS, Pune.
Candidate must complete the registration of SLS Pune and should pay registration fee viz, INR 1750
After then, the candidate must complete the registration of SLS Pune registration of INR 1000 for each programme.
SLAT and SLS, Pune payments can be made using credit card/Debit card/ Net card/ Banking/RTGS/ NEFT/ Online Banking provided on the SLAT Registration Form.

How is student life at Symbiosis Law School, Pune?

Most of the students love the atmosphere of the Symbiosis Law School Pune because of its training and learning sessions. The reasons for which you should join the college are as follows:

You will have a lot of freedom to live your life independently. Doing whatever you like, managing your own finances and will make you much stronger.
You will get a great learning experience from the college. In order to gain more knowledge, you will get a lot of study materials and good faculties who will help in gaining knowledge.
This college is located in Pune which is a very quiet city and you will love it.
The placements of the college are decent. The law companies usually come at the end of the 4th year and you will have to maintain a CGPA of 7 in all semesters to get good placements.
The highest package offered is 14-15 LPA. Some of the hiring companies are Vedanta, Flipkart, Amarchand, etc.
The infrastructure is good but the space is a little less and has beautiful views as well. There is an annual fest called Symbhav which you will enjoy the most as there are sports events as well.

There are outstation fests as well and parties are organized on weekly basis. Various scholarships are also provided for sports quota students.

Symbiosis law entrance test consists of multiple-choice questions. The exam consists of 150 questions and you will have completed all the questions in two and a half hours. The exam has four sections and they are analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, general knowledge, and logical reasoning.

Preparation Tips:

First, you need to be clear with your basics. Most of the questions asked in the analytical section are related to the basics.
Try to give as many mocks online as possible in order to maintain speed and accuracy. The mocks will also help you in knowing your strengths and weaknesses and will help you in improving your performance.
Your focus should be on the legal aptitude section. This is the main section that will help you in cracking the exam.
You should also read the newspapers to improve your comprehension skills and to be updated with current affairs.
Read more books on laws, current amendments, fundamental rights, duties, and principles.
Also, make sure that while answering the questions you use proper concepts and theories.

This exam needs patience and hard work. Make a proper chart for your preparation since you have less time.

Is it worth studying law in Symbiosis? I'm sure it is, but is it better to take a break and study for the CLAT and aim for NLSIU or NALSAR, or should I just continue with Symbiosis this year?

Symbiosis is one of the most prominent and efficient colleges in Pune. Students mainly come here to pursue MBA. It is a pretty decent campus. Now, moving further to discussing CLAT, NLSIU, or NALSAR; as I have learned from some of my friends studying there, that to appear for CLAT next year, to get into NLUs may be worth the attempt.

However, let us consider few factors:

If you are successful in your attempt and manage to get into the top 3 NLUs, you might get a thought of not dropping a year and keep studying to achieve your goal.
When you spend time preparing for CLAT, you would do so along with your current academics.
Will you be able to cope with current college academics is a big question.
If you are not able to clear the CLAT as per expectations, your current studies at Symbiosis will suffer.

Take the right decision by discussing and get in the proper decision, as, it is not wise to meddle around with your time and career.

Which is better Amity law school (IP) or symbiosis law school?

Both Amity Law School and Symbiosis Law School are some of the most prestigious and recognized law schools in India. Symbiosis has 3 Law schools in different parts of India.

Between these Symbiosis branches, Symbiosis Pune is definitely ahead of Amity IP. Symbiosis Noida is on the same level as Amity IP and they both have their advantages and disadvantages. SLS Noida is ahead of Amity in terms of reputation and level of establishment. On the other hand, Amity IP is definitely way ahead of SLS Hyderabad.

So your preference order should be as follows.

SLS Pune>Amity IP>SLS Noida>SLS Hyderabad

Ranking:

Symbiosis Hyderabad is relatively new in the field and thus has managed to have two graduate batches so far (2019 and 2020). However, it is UGC recognized and NAAC approved.
Symbiosis law school of Pune is UGC approved and has ranked 8th among the top law schools by NIRF’s evaluation in 2020.

Admission:

Symbiosis Hyderabad:

Aspiring students who want to take admission at Symbiosis Hyderabad for BA L.L.B must clear the SLAT exam.
The cut-off SLAT score remains to be around 76.

Symbiosis Pune:

NLU Delhi has been ranked 2 by NIRF and the Symbiosis Law School has been ranked 8 by NIRF. Faculty members at both institutes are accomplished and award-winning with names such as Dr. Anuradha Binnuri, Dr. Atmaram Fakirba Shelke, and others at Symbiosis and Prof. Anju Tyagi and Dr. Amita Punj at NLU. There are about 14-20 faculty members at these institutes.
