Government Medical College, Kota MBBS Admission 2023

Govt. Medical College, Kota offers M.B.B.S. course with an intake of 150 students for which the selection is done on the basis of score in NEET UG followed by a personal interview.

The minimum eligibility criterion to apply for admission is to have passed 10+2/ graduate degree in medical science with 45% marks.

Kota Medical College offers M.D. & M.S. in multiple specializations with PG Diploma courses at the PG level. The intake capacity varies for each specialization.

Key Points:

Candidates must be registered as Medical Practitioner as per the rules of the Medical Council of India/ any other state, before applying for PG degree in the college.
The candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories are awarded a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate score of the qualifying exam.
Of the total intake of seats per course, 50% are for General category, while 27% are reserved for OBC, 15% for SC and rest 8% are kept reserved for ST category candidates only.

Gmc kota ate but left some crumbs

What I Liked

Campus is big. To even get from auditorium to classes you need atleast 8 mins of walking. Lots of space and greenery
Teaching faculties is not the best but better than some other government colleges i have heard of.
Absolutely no ragging culture that involves being physical

What I didn’t like

Not well maintained. Really cool campus but walls are literally falling off

Remarks:

Admission process is pretty straight forward following guides from NTA and NMC. It was my 2nd attempt and i got 646 out of 720 in neet. In here we have 2 semester along with 1 puc and then main uc/main exams which is pretty much similar to boards of 12th or 10th grade

Which is the better option for an MBBS, getting a payment seat at RUHS, Jaipur or a government seat at GMC, Kota?

Govt. colleges are better than reputed private colleges because of the huge difference in fees. The payment seats at private colleges in Rajasthan will cost you around 40 lakhs. The fees in Govt. medical colleges, on the other hand, is around 40,000-50,000 only.

The quality of academics at Govt. colleges and private colleges are almost the same. Professor can’t teach you the whole syllabus. In your MBBS, you will have to do a lot of self-study. Out of 19 subjects, 4-5 are for self-study. So, it’s better to choose a Govt. college, where the fees are less. Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Dr. Sampurnanand Medical College, Sardar Patel Medical College, are among the many good Govt. colleges in Rajasthan.
