DRK Institute of Science and Technology was established in 2004 in the city of Hyderabad. Affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), it currently offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and MBA in various disciplines.

For B.Tech admission, a valid score in JEE Main/TS EAMCET/ECET is mandatory.
Students can apply online through the official website of DRK Institute, Hyderabad.
For procuring admission into M.Tech program, candidate should possess valid AP PGECET score.
Admission to MBA and MCA are based on the state level entrance examination i.e. TSICET.

DRK Institute of Science and Technology B.Tech Admission 2023

Students seeking admission to B.Tech programs must have passed HSC (10+2) pattern with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects conducted by the State board of Telangana or any other recognized board.

The seats are allotted under two categories namely A and B.

The A category seats are allocated under convenor quota and are based on the EAMCET rank.
The B Category seats are allocated on the basis of JEE Main score irrespective of candidate reservation status.
Students selecting B category seats should leave their convenor quota seat.

Marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination should not be less than 45% and student should have qualified in JEE Main (B-Category) or EAMCET (A-Category) conducted by Government of Telangana.

Final year diploma candidates from the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana are also eligible for lateral entry B.Tech admission. All the candidates who get qualified in the Engineering Common Entrance Examination (ECET) are provided direct admission to the second year B.Tech.

Candidate should be at least 16 years of age as on 31^st December of the year of admission.
Candidate should be of Indian Origin belonging to the state of Telangana.
5% relaxation is marks are provided to candidates of backward class belonging to Telangana state.
Candidates allotted the seat under B Category are not eligible for the fee reimbursement scheme.

DRK Institute of Science and Technology M.Tech Admission 2023

Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.Tech) in the relevant branch with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.

Candidates will be selected in M.Tech program based on their merit in Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET).

Students pursuing final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for AP PGECET. They should submit their provisional certificate and mark lists during the time of interview.

Candidates should be an Indian National or NRI with Indian origin residing in the state of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
The minimum required eligibility for candidates belonging to all other reserved categories is 50% aggregate in marks.

DRK Institute of Science and Technology MBA Admission 2023

The institute offers MBA in 3 specializations and candidates should have completed their graduation in the same or related discipline with at least 50% marks from a university recognized by Central or Telangana State Government to be eligible for MBA. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET).

Seats are allocated for candidates belonging to different categories namely SC/BC/ST etc. and differently abled category etc. as per the rules of the government.

33.33% seats are allotted for the women candidates belonging to all categories.
Candidate should contain adequate attested copies of all the required documents.
If the candidate has previous work experience, they should provide “No Objection Certificate” of the employer in the prescribed format.

Students seeking admission in M.C.A should possess minimum three-year duration bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate with Maths as one of the subjects at (10+2) level or graduate level examination. Moreover, they should get valid score in TSICET examination.

Candidates seeking admission to the institute can apply through both online and offline mode.

For the online registration, candidates can fill the form available at the official website of DRKIST.
The applications can also be obtained in person from the college office.
The admission fee for B.Tech courses under B-Category is INR 500
For M.Tech courses, the application fee is INR 600 for general category and INR 300 for reserved category candidates.
Students can register themselves to MBA course by submitting the application fee of INR 1000.
Duly filled-in applications along with registration fee and the required documents can be submitted in person at the college office or send by post

What I Liked

During my time at DRK Institute of Science and Technology (DRKIST), I found several aspects of the institute to be particularly commendable. The infrastructure was impressive, with well-maintained classrooms, modern laboratories, and a well-stocked
The education at DRKIST was another strong point. The curriculum was well-structured, offering a good balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The faculty were knowledgeable and supportive, employing effective teaching methods
he institute fostered a vibrant and inclusive community where students from diverse backgrounds could connect and collaborate. There were numerous clubs and organizations catering to a wide range of interests, from technical clubs to cultural etc.

What I didn’t like

One of the dislikes was the administrative processes. At times, dealing with administrative tasks such as registration, fee payments, and obtaining documents could be cumbersome and time-consuming. The process was not always easy .
Another area of concern was the availability of resources during peak times. For instance, while the library and labs were well-equipped, they often became overcrowded during exam periods or project deadlines, making it difficult for us.
I found that the course curriculum could be more aligned with the latest industry trends. While the education was solid, there were instances where certain subjects felt outdated or lacked practical relevance.

Remarks:

For admission to DRKIST, students were required to take the EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test). The cut-off for admission typically ranged from 65,000 to 1,50,000, depending on the course and category of the applicant. The exam was held once a year, and it covered subjects relevant to the chosen field of study. In terms of difficulty, the exam was challenging but manageable with adequate preparation.One aspect of the admission process that I found particularly cumbersome was the length of the process. It was quite time-consuming, from filling out the forms and gathering the necessary documents to waiting for the results and finalizing admission. Streamlining the process, perhaps by introducing a more integrated online system for application and document submission, could significantly improve the overall experience.
