admission process was online and application form was released on the website which was supposed to be printed out and verified in the college itself. eligibility for bcom hons is 55% on the major subject and 45% as aggregate. exams are conducted during the end of the semester. both internal and external.
I did not want to go to somewhere very far for college and also I wanted to go in a private college so I chose Shikshayatan because of its standard environment. as it is centrally located, going anywhere after is very easy. the teachers just complete the syllabus and make you understand everything clearly. i don't think I can provide with any suggestions, everything is quite on track. I've just appeared for sem 1 examinations and it happened really very late so the college was in coordination with the Calcutta University.
I have recently completed my internship at Nirmal Bang as a summer intern. it is a stock broking company and our task was to learn and find potential customers. well we did not have any stipend but the internship was incentive based. many other companies like pantaloons, reliance and shoppers stop have provided their internships as well. shoppers stop's internship was 1½ month long with a stipend of INR 4000.
students of the previous batches we're eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester (for 3 year course). for our batch (4 year course) we'll be provided with placements in the 8th semester. Deloitte, PWC and many other companies approach.
fees for bcom hons is around INR 30000 per semester. also examination fee is charged which was last time INR 350. i think being a private college, it is quite affordable and accessible. the college website can provide you with clear information is fees for all departments.
alot of small events are held in the college on the regular basis under many clubs. students can join NSS as a volunteer which will be very beneficial for our future. involvement in various clubs and sports is always appreciated.
The students for Bcom especially are A LOT. We have around 500-600 students approximately and 4-5 classes each day. the faculty credentials are quite approachable for teaching and mentorship. as far as I have noticed yet, college office staff are pretty much supportive and will help you out. Teachers are very approachable. you can find them either in the staff room or can even call them in urgency. Interaction with most of the teachers is quite easy but can be difficult with some.
Commerce is necessary for survival. You learn about a business, marketing although Bcom is very common and underrated nowadays but it's a good affordable option to complete graduation.Bcom opens path to many professions.
It depends upon the courses you have chosen and the duration of course generally we assume that the courses consists of 3 year and the companies came during the last year of your course and done interview.
The commerce department of the college give you every detailed knowledge about the course. Currently our college is associated with summer internship programs so that after completion of the course your cv have boosted to max level.
If you're a commerce student you have to take B.com ( bachelor of commerce in accounting and finance) course. You'll be introduced to many new subjects that you haven't learnt aur had been teached in 11th or 12th. Not a tough course but yaa it is for some reason. There are tutorial exams before the final exams of 25 marks each and the college does reduce marks if you have written clearly or not. The saddest part. This happened with me too though I have been written everything in the paper still got supply and also there is no option of recheck in college papers
B.Com is a very industry-ready course and very relevant in today's time and work. The real-world application is taught well here and students get some insights about the practical usage of the course. Teachers may use some friendly behavior and some fun examples for the weak students to get involved and interested in the class.
Mostly from 2nd year students start receiving the internships however depends on department to department. Mostly students receive their placements from 3rd year. Few reputed recruiters such as Intel, TCS, Virtusa, Valve Momentum, Amazon, Deloitte, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, etc. The institute offers 270+ recruiters with 97% placement rate. The average package offered is 6.50 LPA whereas the highest is 51 LPA.
I did not want to take science and I did not want to be called an arts student, so I took commerce. When I started, I myself did not know why I should have taken this subject, but I gradually learnt it. I started to understand it and whether I like the accounts or not, I have to read it Now the cost has come in the place of final account, now there will be more problem
The course i choose is definitely not an easy course but the teacher make it easy for all for us.In starting they provide us many classes but with the passing of time they provide us very less classes.
The course I've opted for mainly deals with accounts and commerce but this college gave me the opportunity to explore much more . This course becomes much more interesting with the addition of such value added subjects certain internal exams which includes presentations, mock interviews etc.
After 2nd year students are eligible for campus placements. They have to choose the companies and provide their CVs to the placement cell of the college which then forwards it to the companies. Deloitte, pkmy, godrej are some of the top companies that took students for their company roles. Highest package was 23 lakhs and average was around 4.5 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed were 70. I plan to get a master's degree after completing my graduation.
