I chose SRM Madurai College for its modern infrastructure, strong placement services, and industry-aligned curriculum. I applied to other colleges like VIT and Manipal but chose SRM for its balanced academic environment and specific course offerings. I didn't make it to some top-tier colleges due to stiff competition and narrowly missing cutoffs. The SRM admission process involves an online application, entrance exams like SRMJEEE or JEE Main, followed by counseling. SRM Madurai stood out for its good faculty-to-student ratio and well-rounded campus life, making it a solid choice for engineering studies.
The course curriculum at SRM Madurai is generally relevant and comprehensive, offering a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. It’s designed to align with industry standards, which influenced many students to choose this course. The curriculum prepares students well for real-world applications, especially through project work and labs. However, more focus on emerging technologies and interdisciplinary subjects would enhance its relevance. Teaching methods could incorporate more interactive and practical approaches. Exams are frequent, with midterms and end-semester exams, and are moderately challenging, but regular study makes them manageable.
SRM Madurai College offers diverse internship opportunities with companies across various sectors. Notable companies providing internships include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and L&T. Internships typically offer stipends, with roles ranging from software development and data analysis to engineering design and management. **Projects and Outcomes:** - **Software Development:** Interns work on real-time coding projects, software testing, and development tasks, contributing to ongoing company projects and gaining practical coding experience. - **Engineering Design:** Projects involve working on product design, CAD modeling, and process optimization, often leading to improved engineering solutions or prototypes. These internships help students apply academic knowledge in practical settings, enhancing their skills and career prospects.
Placements at SRM Madurai start in the 7th semester. Top companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and Accenture regularly visit, offering numerous roles, especially in IT. Core companies like L&T and Tata Motors also recruit but offer fewer positions. The highest package usually ranges from INR 10-15 LPA, occasionally reaching over INR 20 LPA, while the average package is around INR 4-6 LPA. About 80-85% of students get placed, with IT and computer science students having higher placement rates. Those not placed often pursue higher studies, entrepreneurship, or prepare for competitive exams. The college’s strong industry connections support employability and diverse career paths.

Campus life at SRM Madurai is vibrant, with key events like "Aarush" (technical fest in September) and "Milan" (cultural fest in March) being major highlights. The library is well-stocked with books and journals, and offers digital access to research databases. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology like smart boards and projectors, providing a conducive learning environment. Sports facilities include cricket, football, and basketball courts, along with a gym. Numerous student-run clubs, such as the Robotics Club and Drama Club, enhance social life, fostering skills and community engagement, making campus life dynamic and enriching.
Qualified and Engaged Faculty: Students often favor faculty members who are passionate about their subjects and who bring real-world experience into the classroom. Professors who use practical examples, engage in discussions, and are enthusiastic about teaching tend to be well-liked.
For admission to SRM Madurai, the primary selection is through entrance exams like SRMJEEE or JEE Main, with no Group Discussion (GD) or Interview typically required for most undergraduate programs. The admission process involves an online application, entrance exam, and counseling based on exam ranks. The entrance test pattern includes questions on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Preparation involves thorough study of 11th and 12th-grade textbooks, practicing past papers, and taking mock tests to manage time effectively. Focused revision of key concepts and problem-solving techniques is crucial for performing well in these exams.
i choose the course because of its comprehensive curriculum which emphasizes both theoritical knowledge and pratical application. the inclusion of advanced modules in the mathematics was particularly appealing to me.

How do you perceive a good curriculum? Do you think your curriculum is good? Why or why not? Curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach, how much depth of knowledge is needed for that grade, and a a timeline to follow so the year will be completed. Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important. My era had no calculators and we needed to be proficient at paper and pencil solutions, but now, perfect calculations are available to everyone. We should focus on what kinds of problems can be solved with mathematics. Spelling is equally less important. Vocabulary should be stressed. My sister years ago was taking a test for a personal assistant position where she was asked to type a large number of words per minute err
In easa college of engineering and technology the teaching methods is good for particular subject there a library for clearing the doubts and labs for particular subject and they provide smart classes also in ECET
Karpagam institute of technology provide nearly 9 course in B. E and they have mire branches in coimbatore. Academic based curriculum are well good and they also provide placement with high packages of salary
The students are eligible for campus placements from 3rd year in the month of October. For chemical engineering, Asian paints, PETRONAS are some companies I remember. Last year 12companies visited and 20offers were made. Highest package: 12LPA and Average package: 6LPA. Students with no standing arrears are mandatory for placements and some companies want candidates with no history of arrears. Percentage of students getting placed is around 15%. I currently do not have any plans
The placements offered here are plenty of opportunities the main thing is whether we should have the calibre to fit in that company or not the company decides srm provide campus placements of companies such as google, amazon and Flipkart, etc.
