JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU) has 17 departments offering admission to 16 undergraduate programs, 25 postgraduate programs and 2 doctoral programs.

For admission to B.E courses, the candidate must have passed 10 + 2 or higher secondary with PCB/ PCM/ PCCS from a recognized board with 45% and must possess relevant marks in the entrance
For admission to B.Sc, BCA, the candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent and must score relevant marks in the entrance
The minimum eligibility for M.Tech is that the candidate must have passed B.E/ B.Tech/ AMIE with at least 50% aggregate. Admission is based on PGCET/ GATE
For MBA, the candidate must have qualified Bachelors in any field with at least 50%. A valid KMAT score is required.
The minimum eligibility criteria for MCA and M.Sc is a Bachelor’s degree with mathematics at 10+2 level
The selection criteria for all postgraduate admission is based on the score of PGCET
For Ph.D, the candidate must possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Final year students of postgraduate programs are also eligible.

I came to this college through KCET. I have scored 52k ranking. Cut off of this college for civil engineering is 53k So i got the seat in this college in first round itself then, i came and admitted in this college in 2023

What I Liked

The placements are good and the exposure is also pretty good, the college allows students to explore new opportunities within campus.
The college provides opportunities to go to USA as well
The teaching is extremely good compared to other colleges

What I didn’t like

The hostel management and food provided is still not taken care of, the major backlash for the college is their girls hostel
There are no events or fests that take place, which is quite boring
The on campus rules are not so solution oriented

Remarks:

The admission process was easy and simple, we had to sit in a que, the office called in a handful people and the process turned out quick, they even signed an anti ragging form so that there's a safety in the students mind while joining the college. The staff was very cooperative and helped us making the whole admission process alot easier

Is it true that SJCE Mysore being converted to JSS science and technological university has degraded the value of the college since the degree is not under VTU?

SJCE conversion to JSS has not degraded the value of the course or the degree. These are said to be rumors spread by rival institutions. Let me share some of the facts which might clear your views regarding the institution.

The placements are not affected as notable companies keep on visiting the campus. SJCE has maintained a good relationship with the companies
The institute sets its own syllabus, which is industry-oriented unlike that of VTU which is not usually updated.
SJCE is known for its brand, the name is not removed from the degrees and is often mentioned by recruiters in India and abroad.
The degree programs are accredited by NBA and the degree awarded by the University is recognized by countries that have signed the Washington accord. So, while applying for PG in other countries, your degree has its value.
It follows the OBE system and has 5 events per subject which are similar to the model followed by foreign universities, unlike VTU who still follows the age-old internals concept.

It is suggested that you do not go by rumors spread by rival institutions. You can definitely put your trust in SJCE, as it stands strong as one of the notable educational institutions in Karnataka.
